Senior Carer
Derby, United Kingdom · Full-time · £24,500 – £28,000
✓ Licensed Sponsor · UK
HealthcarePosted 9 Aug 2026
MHA (Methodist Homes), a major UK charity care provider, is hiring a Senior Carer for one of its Derby-area care homes, leading shift-based care delivery and supporting junior staff.
What you'll do: lead a shift team of care assistants; support medication administration and care plan reviews; act as a point of contact for residents' families.
What we're looking for: NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it), and experience in a senior or lead care role. MHA offers fully funded support toward further qualifications, including a Level 5 Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship.
A note on sponsorship: since the Care Worker and Senior Care Worker visa route closed to new overseas applicants on 22 July 2025, sponsorship for this role is only available to candidates who are already in the UK with eligible immigration status — for example, an existing care worker looking to switch sponsor, or someone on another visa route such as Graduate. This employer holds an active Home Office sponsor licence and does sponsor eligible in-UK candidates, even where their own job advert doesn't spell that out. If you're applying from outside the UK, this route is not currently open to you — check the latest Home Office guidance before applying.
Visa Sponsorship Information
This employer is listed on the UK Government's Register of Licensed Sponsors. This indicates that the employer holds a sponsorship licence and there may be a possibility of visa sponsorship for eligible positions.
Important: A sponsor licence does not mean that this specific vacancy offers visa sponsorship. Sponsorship depends on the role, occupation, salary, eligibility requirements and the employer's willingness to sponsor. Applicants should confirm sponsorship availability directly with the employer before applying.
